Can a PRV be adjusted instead of replaced?
If the PRV is relatively new and the internal diaphragm is still intact, adjusting the screw on top of the valve can change the output pressure. Turning the screw clockwise increases pressure and turning it counterclockwise decreases it. However, if the valve is leaking, seized, corroded, or over 10 years old, adjustment alone won't solve the problem. The internal components are worn out and the valve needs full replacement.
